Tech News: Last one for May 2021

Welcome readers. This week's tech news is on time like every other one so far, and probably every other one to come. Let's enjoy the tech news in all it's Glory!!!

 Windows 100:

Though microsoft had planned Windows 10 to be the last official version of windows, a new version of Windows called 'Windows 100' Is actually in the planning stage, and is the company's next attempt to be able to run windows on ARM devices. This will also have a lot of elements baked in that would otherwise be lost in Windows 10X, the OEM-only OS the company had decided to shelve just a couple of weeks ago. The company's CEO also stated that the new OS will provide greater economic oppurtunities for Developers and Content creators. But given that the company is regularly updating Windows 10, i.e., the OS they said would be the last windows, we will have to see if they split developer resources or if they create a new team for the new 'Windows 100'

Whatsapp sued INDIA? This is a big one:

The Indian Government required whatsapp to be able to share their user data such as their messages with the Government as part of the new laws that are required to be obeyed by social media providers to operate within the country. The laws also state that the companies will need to have a set of officers in speciality so that the government can more easiily retrieve information from big tech companies in case of Official investigations or Cyber Crimes. Companies will also be required to remove content themes or impersonation. Obviously, whatsapp cannot do this as their service is end-to-end encrypted. So in return, whatsapp sued the Indian Government for an unknown amount. We will have to see which side gives in.

Everybody is gettting sued!!

Amazon was sued last week by the DC Attorney General for anitcompetitive practices. It was mentioned that amazon was selling third party products lower than the given price, leading to the third parties' stores collapsing. This happend a lot last month. So, the DC Attorney general sued the company under a  lawsuit and maintain the minimum price for products from thrid party vendors. This was followed by Amazon's acquisition of MGM for 8.5 Billion USD. The company may be seeing some money shortages but with a man like Jeff Bezos on the top, I think they can handle it just fine.

I thought to keep today's post relatively short for a change. As always, wait untill next week for more Tech News, or stay tuned untill Sunday to learn something about Encryption. You can learn more about these news stories and more, with the links down below.
